I will release a monthly newsletter to highlight various podcasts, blogs, books, and inspiring individuals who are making a difference in the mental health and recovery field. This newsletter aims to spread positive and uplifting messages of healing and recovery. We all heal and grow stronger by supporting each other. |

A word about the name Four PagesI chose to name my business Four Pages as a way to honor my children. They gave me a purpose for getting sober, staying sober, and spreading my message to others who need help with their recovery, repairing relationships with their family, and continuing their addiction or mental health journey.

Rita goes beyond her job description in providing outpatient services to children and their families in her community and surrounding counties. She is sincerely dedicated to helping children and adolescents develop a solid foundation of self-esteem, learn how to problem-solve, set goals, and build confidence in order to establish life skills that will prepare them for life after high school. Rita also created an innovative program called The Positive Message Project, which works mainly with 6th and 7th graders. She enlisted additional support and funding from local businesses in the community. The program is designed to help these students develop a positive self-image, empathy for others, and a sincere belief in their ability to take on life’s challenges. She is a role model to these students and other mental health workers and has been a much sought-after speaker at local, state, and regional conferences. In addition to her work, she also volunteers and serves on the boards of; The Boys and Girls Club, local Chalet Chapter in Prentis, MS. Chairman of the Board for the MS Tobacco-Free Coalition (MFRC) for the counties of Alcorn, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Prentis President of the Board for Aiming for Healthy Families. President of the 4-H club.

I particularly love Hadley’s book because it presents another point of view about the American drinking culture and how one can break free from its grip without having to identify as an alcoholic. “This isn’t the typical story of someone hitting bottom and clawing their way to sobriety. It’s the story of a social drinker fully immersed in our society’s rampant drinking culture, waking up to realize that life didn’t need to revolve around alcohol. It is the story of a mom who decided to quit drinking before things got worse and realized that she could walk away from drinking for good.” |
