Newsletter Name Change: From Parenting In RecoveryI changed the name to clarify that my work encompasses more than just parenting; it’s about relationships of all kinds, including those with partners, family, friends, and co-workers, as well as offering hope and guidance to individuals and their loved ones whose lives are impacted by addiction.

Raw Thoughts on Grief (taken from my blog article, dated November 24, 2024)Grief has been like a quiet shadow in my life, often unnoticed and misinterpreted. During my childhood, emotions such as sadness were tucked away, leaving me unprepared to handle loss. This burying of feelings turned into a fertile ground for unresolved grief, leading to my battles with addiction. It was only when I faced these hidden emotions that I started my journey toward healing. Through therapy and support groups, I discovered that recognizing grief is not a weakness but an essential part of the recovery process. Accepting my pain helped me to mend relationships and find strength in being vulnerable, turning grief from a heavy load into a powerful force for personal growth. Today, I still don’t like addressing grief, but I know that facing it is essential for my well-being and personal growth. I understand that embracing my emotions allows me to honor my father’s memory and live a fuller life.
